Flat-file formats
Amazon uses category-specific flat files with different required fields per category. Trajekt maps your product data to the correct Amazon flat-file format for your product category.
🔍
ASIN matching
Trajekt helps match your products to existing Amazon ASINs via GTIN (EAN/barcode), reducing the risk of creating duplicate listings.
📝
Bullet points
Amazon requires product feature bullet points (bullet_point1 through bullet_point5). Trajekt can extract key features from your descriptions and format them as Amazon bullet points.
🏷️
Brand registry
For brand-registered sellers, Trajekt correctly populates brand_name, manufacturer, and bullet point fields required for A+ content eligibility.
📦
Inventory sync
Trajekt syncs your stock levels to Amazon Seller Central daily — preventing overselling and keeping your Amazon listings accurate with your live inventory.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Amazon uses flat-file CSV templates that are category-specific. You download the template for your product category from Seller Central, populate it with your product data, and upload it. Amazon processes the file, matches products to existing ASINs where possible, and creates new listings for new products. The process is more complex than Google Shopping or Meta.
An Amazon flat file is a category-specific CSV template from Amazon Seller Central. Each product category (Clothing, Electronics, Home & Garden etc.) has its own template with different required and optional fields. Common fields across all categories include item_sku, brand_name, item_name, product_description, bullet_point1-5, feed_product_type, and recommended_browse_nodes.
Include your product GTIN (EAN barcode) in your Amazon feed. Amazon matches products to existing ASINs by GTIN. If an ASIN already exists for your product, Amazon links your listing to that ASIN rather than creating a duplicate. Brand-registered sellers can also suppress unauthorised listings via Brand Registry.
Amazon product bullet points (bullet_point1 through bullet_point5) are short, scannable product features shown below the product title. They are critical for conversion and a key factor in Amazon's search algorithm. Each bullet should cover a key product feature or benefit. Trajekt can extract key features from your product descriptions and format them as Amazon bullet points.
Yes. Trajekt pulls inventory from your Shopify store and generates inventory update files for Amazon Seller Central. Daily sync prevents overselling. When a product sells out on Shopify, Trajekt updates the Amazon quantity to 0 automatically.
Amazon MWS (now replaced by SP-API) is Amazon's API for programmatic Seller Central access. Trajekt uses Amazon SP-API to submit product feeds, update inventory, and retrieve listing status programmatically — removing the need for manual flat-file uploads via Seller Central interface.
No. Amazon uses its own flat-file CSV format, completely different from Google Shopping XML. You cannot submit a Google Shopping feed to Amazon. Each Amazon product category requires a different template.
Amazon uses "browse nodes" for product categorisation — numeric IDs from Amazon's category tree. recommended_browse_nodes in your flat file determines where your product appears in Amazon's browse hierarchy. Choosing the most specific appropriate node improves product discoverability. Trajekt includes Amazon browse node mapping for common UK product categories.
Key Amazon policies: products must be brand new unless listing as used/collectible; prices must match your listed price; prohibited products list is extensive (check your category); images must meet Amazon's requirements (white background, product fills 85%+ of frame, minimum 1000px); titles have character limits (typically 200 characters).
Amazon typically processes product feeds within 15-30 minutes for inventory updates and 1-24 hours for new product listings or substantial product updates. New ASINs may take longer to appear in search results as Amazon crawls and indexes the listing page.
Yes. Many UK merchants sell across both channels. Trajekt can generate your Amazon feed and your Google Shopping/Meta feeds from the same Shopify or WooCommerce source, keeping all channels in sync.
