Shopify Product Feed — what Trajekt does for you

🔌

Admin GraphQL API

Trajekt connects via Shopify's Admin GraphQL API — pulling your complete product data including variants, metafields, collections, SEO data, tags, and images. No app install required.

📦

Full variant data

Every variant — size, colour, material — with its own price, barcode, inventory quantity, and images. Trajekt maps each variant to the correct product in your output feeds.

🏷️

Metafields support

Shopify metafields contain rich product data that basic feed tools miss. Trajekt pulls all product metafields and makes them available as rules variables for feed enrichment.

🖼️

Multiple images

Trajekt pulls all product images (up to 5 per product) including featuredImage with altText. Additional images are included in feeds that support them (Google, Meta, ChatGPT).

🔑

Zero app friction

No Shopify app, no partner account, no review process. Connect with your Shopify API credentials and start generating feeds in minutes.

🔄

Scheduled refresh

Trajekt fetches your Shopify data on your chosen schedule — twice daily, daily, or every few hours. Pricing, availability, and new products stay current automatically.

Shopify Product Feed — frequently asked questions

Trajekt connects to your Shopify store via the Admin GraphQL API using Client ID and Client Secret credentials. You create a Custom App in your Shopify admin, grant read permissions for products and inventory, and paste the credentials into Trajekt. No app installation or Shopify app store review is required.
Trajekt pulls via GraphQL: product titles, descriptions, prices, barcodes/GTINs, images (including featured image with alt text), variants with options, inventory quantities, tags, collections (up to 5 per product), SEO title and description, metafields (up to 10 per product), product type, vendor (brand), and publication dates.
No. Trajekt uses Shopify's Admin API directly — no app installation, no Shopify app store listing, no partner account needed. You simply create a Custom App in your Shopify admin panel and paste the Client ID and Secret into Trajekt.
Yes. Trajekt pulls all product metafields accessible via the Admin GraphQL API. This includes custom metafields you've created for product specifications, materials, care instructions, or any other product data. These become available as variables in Trajekt's rules engine for feed enrichment.
Each Shopify product variant becomes a separate row in your output feed, with its own id, price, barcode (GTIN), inventory quantity, and variant-specific options (colour, size, material). All variants share the same item_group_id (the parent Shopify product ID) for correct grouping in Google Shopping and Meta catalogues.
Yes. Trajekt's multi-store architecture lets you connect multiple Shopify stores under one account. Each store has its own feeds, rules, and schedule. This is ideal for agencies managing multiple Shopify clients or businesses with separate Shopify stores for different brands or markets.
Yes. Trajekt pulls up to 5 collections per product via GraphQL. Collection names can be used in your rules engine to set custom_label values, product_type paths, or filter products for specific feeds. For example, you could create a separate Google Shopping feed for each Shopify collection.
Trajekt pulls inventory_quantity per variant and maps it to availability fields. Products with 0 inventory are set to out_of_stock. You can configure a threshold (e.g. set out_of_stock when inventory < 2) to avoid running ads for products nearly out of stock.
Trajekt requires read permissions for: Products and their variants, Inventory, Collections, Product metafields, and Storefront content (for published status). Write permissions are never requested — Trajekt only reads your product data.
Yes. Trajekt works with all Shopify plans including Shopify Plus. The Admin GraphQL API is available on all plans. For Shopify Plus stores with multiple markets or international pricing, Trajekt can be configured to output the correct currency and pricing for each target country.
Trajekt supports scheduled sync intervals from every 30 minutes to once daily. Each sync pulls your complete product catalogue via GraphQL and regenerates all your feeds. The most common schedule is twice daily — enough to capture price changes, new arrivals, and stock updates.

How Shopify data maps to feed attributes

Trajekt connects via the Admin GraphQL API and maps your Shopify data to the correct feed attributes for each channel.

Common Shopify feed problems — and how Trajekt fixes them

Price mismatchesSale prices changing in Shopify but not reflected in your feed until the next crawl. Trajekt’s daily refresh (or twice-daily on Growth+) keeps prices current. A manual re-run can be triggered any time before a sale launches.
Missing GTINsShopify doesn’t have a native barcode field in all versions. Trajekt maps your custom barcode/EAN attribute directly to the gtin feed field via a rule. Branded products get their GTINs; own-brand products get identifier_exists: no.
Thumbnail imagesSome Shopify configurations export thumbnail image URLs rather than full-size images. Trajekt maps to the full-size image URL via the API, ensuring images meet Google’s 800×800px recommended minimum.
Unoptimised titlesDefault Shopify product names are written for on-site browsing, not Shopping search matching. Trajekt rules restructure titles to the Shopping-optimal format (Brand + Product + Attributes) without changing anything in your Shopify store.
No custom labelsShopify has no native custom label concept for Shopping. Trajekt sets custom_label_0–4 automatically via rules — by price range, category, stock level, or any field in your Shopify data.
