FAQ

Frequently asked questions

An Awin product feed is a CSV file containing your product data that you upload to the Awin publisher interface. Awin publishers (comparison sites, cashback platforms, bloggers, price engines) use your feed to promote your products with accurate, up-to-date information. Without a complete, current product feed, publishers cannot effectively promote your products.
Key Awin fields include: aw_product_id (unique ID), product_name (title), description, aw_deep_link (product URL), search_price (price excluding promotions), rrp_price (RRP), display_price (price shown on site), merchant_image_url (product image), brand_name, merchant_category, colour, size, in_stock (0 or 1), is_for_sale (1), condition, ean (GTIN), and keywords.
Log into your Awin advertiser account, go to Tools > Product Feeds, and upload your CSV file. You can also set up a scheduled feed URL for automatic updates. Trajekt provides a stable feed URL that Awin can fetch on your chosen schedule.
Daily updates are recommended. Publishers who use your feed for price comparison listings, cashback platforms, and product showcases rely on accurate, up-to-date pricing and stock information. Stale feeds cause publishers to show incorrect prices and unavailable products, damaging your brand and publisher relationships.
aw_product_id is your unique product identifier in the Awin feed — equivalent to the id in Google Shopping. It should be stable across feed updates. Trajekt uses your Shopify or WooCommerce product ID as the aw_product_id.
search_price is the actual current selling price of the product (what the customer pays). display_price is the price shown on your website, which may include text like "from £X" for variant products. rrp_price is the manufacturer's recommended retail price. For most products, search_price and display_price are the same.
The underlying data is the same, but the format and field names are different. Google Shopping uses XML with g: namespace attributes; Awin uses CSV with Awin-specific column names. Trajekt can generate both from the same source data — connect your store once and output to both channels.
Awin publishers who benefit from product feeds include: price comparison sites (Google Shopping partner sites, PriceRunner, Kelkoo), cashback platforms (TopCashback, Quidco), affiliate content sites and bloggers, coupon and deals sites, and retargeting technology companies. A complete, accurate feed enables all of these publisher types to promote your products.
Awin uses unique tracking links (aw_deep_link plus a publisher tracking parameter) to attribute sales to specific publishers. When a customer clicks a publisher's link and makes a purchase, Awin records the conversion and credits the publisher's commission. Your Awin tracking code (pixel or server-side) on your confirmation page records the sale.
Trajekt's core feed formats include Awin CSV. For other networks like CJ Affiliate, Tradedoubler, or Rakuten, Trajekt's custom feed builder can generate the required format. Contact us to discuss your specific affiliate network requirements.
Commission rates vary by product category and merchant. Typical UK rates: fashion 5-15%, electronics 1-3%, beauty 8-12%, home & garden 3-8%. New advertiser accounts need to set competitive commission rates to attract quality publishers.
